Thomas N. Plourde, 77, of Floyd, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Rome Memorial Hospital.

He was born on July 19, 1934, in Utica, NY, the son of the late Louis Sr. and Jeanne Menard Plourde. He attended Utica Schools. On August 11, 1984, Tom was united in marriage to Shirley (Kotary) Hammon in Holland Patent.

He was employed by Utica Corporation (Kelsey Hayes) for thirty-four years, retiring in 1995. Prior to that, he had shown movies at Uptown Theater and Marcy Drive-in.

He was a member of St. Leo the Great Church in Holland Patent.

Surviving besides his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Shirley; are seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Robin Carney, Donna and Bill Quinn, Diane and Tim Heburn, Sandy and Walt Sargent, Lori and Mike Burns, Kathy Beaton and Jamie Doolittle, and JoAnn Hammon; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Tommy Plourde, John Hammon, Raymond and Susan Hammon, and Mike and Jeanette Hammon; twenty grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Pansy Plourde, and Richard and Kathy Plourde; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Duke Mosakowski, Suzette and Stanley Walewski, Linda and John Beasman, Barbara Daly; two sisters-in-law, Helen Plourde and Frances Plourde; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward Kotary, Joseph and Ann Kotary, James Kotary, John and Wilma Kotary, Robert and Clare Kotary, Betty Kotary; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Jerry, and Louis, Jr.; three sisters, Shirley Clark, Jean Madore, and Gloria Buschor.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 9:00 AM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and a Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Leo the Great Church, Holland Patent, at 10:00 AM where the Rev. Vincent P. Long will officiate. Interment will take place in Floyd Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
