WILMER FEATHERSTONE

 

Wilmer "Brick" L. Featherstone, age 89, resident of Post Falls, passed away on Nov. 16, 2007, at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 6, 1918, in Red Wing, Minn. to Oliver Featherstone and Helen Schlickting.

Brick married Katherine Cram on May 10, 1942, in Riverside, Calif. He served in Africa and Italy during WWII; he then worked as an electrician and in heavy construction. Brick belonged to the Calvary Lutheran Church, Post Falls; the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Minnesota. He enjoyed yard work and woodworking.

Brick had an intense, deep faith, many people were blessed by hearing him say "I don't worry about that, it's what I pay the man upstairs to do,"

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; son, James Featherstone; brothers: Oran Grand Featherstone, Winona, Minn., and Royal Myron Featherstone, Cannon Falls, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Sumner, Richard, James; and sister, Carol.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1101 Compton St., Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel was in charge of the cremation.

 

 


 
 Wilmer Featherstone is the husband of Kaye Featherstone. Brick, as he is called, has been married to

Kay for over 60 years. Brick got his name from the color of his hair.
